There's been friction in Sassari between the UGL union and Sereni Orizzonti , the group that manages the "Matida" nursing home on Via Carlo Felice. Nearly a month ago, the facility was partially cleared of residents when the fire department, following an inspection, noted safety concerns. In two days, Wednesday, February 25th, a videoconference meeting will be held between the employees and the owners. If things go badly, the trade association assures, we will contact the prefect.

The company, responding to our newspaper's questions, reported: "The Risk Assessment Document and the Head of the Prevention and Protection Service have always been regularly present, as required by current legislation."

However, the UGL union has also reported some alleged critical issues to the NAS, the ASL 1 and the Labour Inspectorate and has been on a war footing for some time.

Meanwhile, regarding the required work, Sereni Orizzonti assures: "In agreement with the Fire Department, a process has been established to restore the facilities to full operational readiness, as well as the gradual return of guests starting next week."
