The Court of Appeal, today in Sassari, confirmed the acquittal of the 22 people accused of having violated the Scelba law which in article 5 punishes "anyone who, with words or gestures, participating in public meetings, carries out usual demonstrations of the dissolved fascist party".

In 2018, outside the church of San Giuseppe, the 22, filmed on video, had given the fascist salute to the coffin of Professor Giampiero Todini whose funeral was about to take place.

In the first instance, in 2021, Judge Sergio De Luca acquitted the defendants because "the fact does not constitute a crime". But the prosecutor Paolo Piras had appealed, asking for 2 months and a 200 euro fine for the defendants.

Today, as written, the decision of the panel presided over by Judge Salvatore Marinaro, which orders the same verdict, as requested by the defense lawyers Antonio Mereu, Milena Mura, Patrizia Marcori, Pierluigi Olivieri, Sophie Nurra, Bachisio Basoli, Agostinangelo Marras.
