A drunk woman assaults a municipal police officer in Sassari and is arrested. The woman, a 44-year-old from Sassari, was celebrating the Feast of the Immaculate Conception yesterday between Piazza Azuni and Via Luzzati when, apparently due to a few too many drinks, she began to rage. The local police officers intervened, but were initially insulted, and then one of them was punched in the lip by the woman. She was handcuffed and taken to the police car, where, with her feet together, she again attacked the officer. He was admitted to the hospital requiring six days of treatment. In court this morning, the suspect, represented by Attilio Pinna, apologized to the officers and maintained she had no recollection of what happened. Judge Monia Adami ordered the arrest to be confirmed but no precautionary measures were imposed.
