The man who in recent days set fire to a car and threatened the officers has been reported by the Sassari police.

The report to the Police Headquarters operations room had arrived in the early hours of the morning from Piazza Santa Maria. A police squad was sent to the scene and immediately identified a suspect in the vicinity of the fire. There were specific precedents against him and his hands and trousers were dirty with soot.

When the police asked him the first questions, he appeared nervous and reticent, also attempting to escape control and making threats to the officers.

Once he regained his composure, he confessed to being the author of the fire.

Subjected to a search, he was found in possession of a switchblade.
