The PagoPa scam has reached Sassari . Some messages on citizens' cell phones demand payment for fictitious traffic violations via the PagoPa platform . In reality, it's a scam, and several people have contacted the local police asking for help , thus avoiding being robbed.
«It is essential to always verify that the sender's address corresponds to the official one – underlines the Command of Via Carlo Felice – Often the addresses contain spelling or grammatical errors (e.g.: supportfrgouv.com) and that the site is protected by a security certificate which can be verified by the presence of the "padlock" icon positioned in the browser's address bar and by the address starting with "https://" and not simply "http://"
Please note that neither the Municipality nor the PagoPa website ever ask for personal information such as bank details, passwords, or ATM or credit card numbers in this way. Always check the link on your computer to see the actual web address that appears in the preview window.
The local police notify traffic violations via the "send" platform and send unique payment IDs in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in the code. Therefore, there is no requirement to pay within 72 hours of receiving the notice. If in doubt, always contact the police station on Via Carlo Felice.
