The African heat wave in Sardinia does not abate, where temperatures reach 38-39 degrees, an average of 4 degrees higher than the same period in previous years according to Air Force experts. And the mistral that is blowing on the island doesn't help: it doesn't exceed 15 knots and its effect is to move the warmer air from the internal areas to the southern coasts of the island.
According to the Ministry of Health, Cagliari is a yellow city both today and tomorrow, with level 1 alert, while the risk of fires remains medium throughout Sardinia.
«The anticyclone remains in the Mediterranean basin with high temperatures of up to 38-39 degrees, especially in the areas of the interior of the island - they explain from the weather office of the Air Force at the Decimomannu base - and the situation will remain almost stationary until 17 , with an entry of not strong north-westerly currents, which will bring cooler air".
The only consolation is that there is no longer that yellow dust in the skies of the island made of sand and dust coming from North Africa. This, the Air Force explains, is thanks to the high pressure "positioned between Spain and Africa" and the "northwestern circulation of winds at altitude".
