Sardinia, nightmare waiting lists: even more than 12 months for an electrocardiogram
The numbers, published by the local health authorities and relating to access to care in October, outline a worrying picturePer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The mirage of a " comprehensive eye-sight test ": in Sardinia the average wait is more than 200 days with peaks of 370 .
With these numbers , the in-depth analysis of Unionesarda.it continues , dedicated to access to care in public or affiliated facilities on the island (here the focus on specialist visits in Cardiology, Dermatology, Gynaecology, Gastroenterology, Orthopedics and Neurology).
The data we are publishing is from October : the local health authorities have just put it online, which is responsible for updating on a monthly basis the progress of bookings made by citizen-patients through the Single Cup Centre. However, the numbers for Gallura and Ogliastra are missing, which in their respective institutional portals are stuck in 2021 and 2016.
In the ASL 8 of Cagliari the longest waiting time for the "eye-sight" exam is in Senorbì , where you get an appointment after 355 days , the second worst figure in Sardinia. Then here is Dolianova with 245 days, Quartu with 239, Sinnai with 210, Sestu with 186, Selargius with 174. Finally the clinic of the capital in Viale Trieste with 157 days.
The Nuoro area is the area of the island most penalized on the eye-sight exam : in Aritzo and Desulo you wait 238 days before an appointment, in Gavoi 353, in Macomer 259. Then here is Orosei with 323 days, Siniscola with 208, Sorgono with 267. The health facility in the worst situation is the Nuoro clinic which, with 370 days, takes home the regional negative record.
In the Middle Campidano the waiting time is shorter, but in any case not under four months: in Villacidro for an eye-sight exam the waiting time is 202 days, in Serramanna 132, in Sanluri 119, in Guspini 137. In ASL 1 of the North-West they range from 165 days for Bono to 97 for Perfugas , passing through 120 for Porto Torres and 119 for the clinic in via Tempio in Sassari . In Iglesias the wait is 160 days at the CTO hospital and 218 at the city clinic. In Carbonia , however, the appointment is set after 142 days. On the eye-sight exam, the Oristano Local Health Authority has released only one piece of data: that of Ales with a two-day wait. A partial number that does not allow us to reconstruct the trend of bookings in the area.
Access to treatment is also slow on the audiometric exam : the black jersey goes to Sorgono with 243 days, followed by Iglesias with 200. Within the individual local health authorities there are important variations: in the province of Cagliari they range from 155 days for Senorbì to 19 of the Santissima Trinità , one of the hospitals in the capital. Then here is the wait of 72 days in Isili and 59 days in Quartu , again according to the report published on a monthly basis by the number 8 health company in Sardinia. In Guspini the appointment is given after 124 days, but it is the only data on the trend of bookings provided by the Local Health Authority 6 of Medio Campidano.
For an audiometric test , the province that seems to be doing better, at least in October, was that of the North-West with a wait of 46 days in Thiesi and 53 in the former Conti di Sassari health facility . Then here is Alghero with 87 days in the civil hospital and 45 in the outpatient clinic. In Oristano you need to be patient for 119 days before being able to do the eye-sight exam, in Samugheo 97, in Terralba 94. In Sulcis , in addition to the aforementioned case of Iglesias, there are nine days of waiting at the Cto city hospital , while in Carbonia there are 106.
In Oristano the appointment is not obtained before 119 days which in Samugheo drops to 97, while in Terralba the quota is 94 days. Finally, the rest of Central Sardinia, where Sorgono, as mentioned, reigns supreme with a negative regional record: for an audiometric test in Gavoi you have to wait 55 days, in Orosei 50, in Siniscola 92, at the Nuoro polyclinic 58.
On the abdominal ultrasound, Sorgono is still the island's black shirt , at 251 days old. A wait that in the same ASL 3 of Nuoro is slightly lower in Siniscola, where you get an appointment 242 days after the call to the Cup.
Scrolling through the data by health company, in the province of Cagliari the worst data is recorded by Senorbì once again, with 169 days. These are the other territorial data: in the capital for an abdominal ultrasound you wait 64 days at Binaghi , 58 at Marino and 66 at Santissima Trinità . In Isili very short times in October, just four days . Which rises to 48 at San Marcellino in Muravera and 56 in the clinic in the same town of Sarrabus. In Orroli the appointment is obtained after 66 days, in Quartu after 57, in Villasimius after 46.
Very short wait in the ASL 1 of the North-West: abdominal ultrasound in eleven days both in Alghero and Thiesi ; in 19 days in Ozieri ; 15 in the former Conti di Sassari healthcare facility. The data spikes in the Medio Campidano : Villacidro 89 days, Sanluri 102, Guspini 67 and San Gavino 74. In ASL 5 the speeds are different: 14 days at Delogu in Ghilarza, but in Oristano 99 are needed at San Martino and 21 at home we take care of the Madonna del Rimedio.
The Sulcis report indicates two affiliated private facilities : the Atzori and Puddu radiology practices, where the appointment for an abdominal ultrasound is obtained after 94 and 99 days respectively.
Biblical times even for an electrocardiogram , with a few exceptions. In the triad of negative records there are the 371 days of Orosei , the 340 days of San Gavino and the 312 of Gavoi. Counterbalanced by the lucky cases of Sorgono, with nine days at San Camillo, and of Carbonia, with just forty-eight hours at the Sirai hospital. The numbers are always those that the local health authorities publish monthly, the latest update found online is from this October.
These are the other data from the health company number relating to the electrocardiogram: 52 days of waiting at the Binaghi in Cagliari; 116 to Decimomannu; 189 in Dolianova; 190 in Monastir; 103 in Pula; 113 in Quartu; 153 in Selargius; 188 in Senorbì; 164 in Sestu, 171 in Siliqua; 78 in Villasimius. Sinnai's 277 days close the window on the territory, the worst figure in the province.
In ASL 1 of the North-West, for an electrocardiogram you have to wait a minimum of 35 days in Sassari and a maximum of 62 in Bono . But the health authority has not published all the numbers of the relevant health facilities. In the Middle Campidano, the picture is completed with the second data on San Gavino, where in the luckiest cases the appointment for the specialist heart exam can be obtained after 186 days. In the Sanluri and Guspini clinics it takes 159 and 217 days respectively.
These are the numbers from the Barbagia Local Health Authority , net of the aforementioned record cases in Orosei and Gavoi: in Bitti the waiting days for an electrocardiogram are 26; 237 in Macomer . In Nuoro 266 at the clinic, but 54 at the San Francesco hospital. Again: 106 in Siniscola , while in Sorgono the wait can vary between nine days at the San Camillo hospital and 143 at the clinic. In Sulcis you can wait up to 268 days if the Cup assigns the electrocardiogram to the Iglesias polyclinic. Finally: 14 days in Ales, 20 in Bosa and two in Terralba. In the city of Oristano they range from two days of San Martino to 100 days of the clinic.
The Doppler ultrasound of the supra-aortic trunks is another Sardinian emergency: Sorgono still has the worst data on the island with 321 days of waiting at the clinic . Zonchello di Nuoro is no exception with 308 days. As shown by the October reports published by the local health authorities, this examination is largely carried out by structures affiliated with the regional health service.
So: at Crea in Assemini the wait is 231 days; in Studio Casciu in Cagliari we wait 136 days; in the Deriu Radiology Institute, also in the capital, appointment after 121 days. At Csas after 95. Again: in Capoterra 108 days at Karalis and 128 at Cardio service; 120 in the Sestu radiodiagnostic office. The New nursing home and Studio Sassu are accredited in Decimomannu, where the wait is 86 and 136 days respectively. In Quartu exam possible in agreement with the CDM and in Studio Sias, with 131 and 140 days. In Selargius, appointment after 58 days at the Aromando Center and after 164 at Cadeddu. In Sinnai 123 days at the Cardio team and 128 in the Santa Vittoria medical center.
There are also significant waiting lists in the Middle Campidano : for an ultrasound Doppler on the supra-aortic trunks it takes 155 days in Villacidro, 133 in Guspini and 195 in San Gavino. The Sassari Local Health Authority indicates only two data: 14 days in the Ozieri hospital and 21 in the former Conti structure of the capital. Important numbers also in the ASL, in addition to the already mentioned negative records of the territory: appointment after 167 days in Macomer; after 169 at San Francesco di Nuoro; after 116 at San Camillo di Sorgono. Thus in Oristano and its province: in the city polyclinic an ultrasound Doppler of the supra-aortic trunks can be done after 84 days, in Ghilarza after 108 days.
A final piece of information on specialist tests relates to nuclear magnetic resonance imaging of the thoracic spine . Of course, a non-routine performance. But at the San Francesco hospital in Nuoro you have to wait for 543 days before getting an appointment . It means a year and a half of waiting. It is the worst October data recorded in Sardinia .
An island lagging behind in terms of access to treatment, with enormous waiting lists from which no province can be saved.
