Worrying in Sardinia is the increase in crimes related to drug trafficking, stalking, but also those relating to child pornography, crimes against sexual freedom, those against property, but also those deriving from juvenile discomfort; on the other hand those against the public administration seem to stabilize.

The photograph on the state of justice on the island was made in her report by the president of the Court of Appeal of Cagliari, Gemma Cucca , in the opening ceremony of the judicial year for the district of Sardinia.

«As far as the types of crimes are concerned, the district has recorded substantial stability in those relating to the public administration, while those against property appear to be on the increase - said the president - equally worrying are the crimes committed by minors or to their detriment. The brilliant management carried out by the prosecutorial courts for minors in terms of reception of Ukrainian refugees should also be noted". On the other hand, the crimes prosecuted by the DDA in relation to drug trafficking are growing.

"It should be noted that there are no mafia-type associations on the island - continues Cucca - even if contacts and agreements have emerged with the traditional mafia organizations of southern Italy in the sector of drug trafficking and the laundering of proceeds from illicit activities".

Despite the problems of deficit in the staff of magistrates and judicial offices, the burden of pending cases seems to be reduced.

Among the audience present at the ceremony was also the president of the Region, Christian Solinas . The first report in Sardinia by the newly elected Attorney General Luigi Patronaggio was also eagerly awaited, signaling the increase in crimes linked to the production and marketing of both light and heavy drugs.

«The island as a whole - clarifies the attorney general - while not registering the presence of indigenous mafia associations, appears vulnerable to the penetration of mafia organizations, in particular, from Campania and Calabria. The latter, however, appear to be strongly interested in the laundering of money of lawful origin and in the re-employment of illicit capital, phenomena facilitated by the great investment opportunities that Sardinia offers in the tourism and commercial sector".

COSPITO – On the Cospito case, Patronaggio does not enter into the matter, but underlines his concern both for the need to protect the human life of the prisoner and for collective safety. Regarding the anarchist detained in Sassari, the pg underlined: «In relation to the application of the regime pursuant to art. 41 bis of the penitentiary system to the well-known anarchist Alfredo Cospito, detained at the Sassari-Bancali penitentiary institute, there were protests that aroused many concerns for public order and safety, also having regard to the network of anarchist antagonists, even of an international nature, which animated these demonstrations».

Among the various speeches we also note those of the representative of the Superior Council of the Judiciary Michele Forziati, the delegate of the Ministry of Justice, Riccardo Massera and the president of the Cagliari Bar Association, Matteo Pinna.
