The ship that this afternoon remained stationary for hours in front of the island of Elba has resumed sailing towards the port of Livorno at reduced speed. It is a Sardinia Ferries vehicle that departed from Golfo Aranci at 9.15 with 1000 people on board and should have landed at the Tuscan seaport around 18.45. "But at 4 pm - reports a passenger on her cell phone - the light went out and all the engines stopped".
An electrical blackout blocked the boat. Several inconveniences encountered on board including the out of order air conditioning which forced passengers to pour onto the deck. "Initially they tried to start again - continues the woman - but they failed".
The 29,000-ton ship – having said goodbye to the forced stop – is now heading towards the Tuscan coast. The arrival at the port is expected around 10pm.
