The Cagliari Public Prosecutor's Office closed the investigation into the "forbidden" lunch in Sardara on 7 April 2021 with six suspects.

In the thermal establishment, in open violation of the anti Covid rules provided for the orange zone in force in those days throughout the island, about forty people had gathered, including regional leaders, politicians, mayors, health and military leaders.

Many of them, upon the arrival of the Yellow Flames, who put an end to the banquet, managed to disappear.

Colonel Marco Granari, commander of the 151st Infantry Regiment of the Sassari Brigade, must answer for embezzlement for the use of the service car but also for forgery. Same complaints for the adjutant, Lieutenant Colonel Mario Piras, and for the secretary, Corporal Major Davide Concas.

The prosecutor Giangiacomo Pilia also disputes crimes under the Military Criminal Code to them, having received the file from the Military Prosecutor of Rome which had begun its part of checks after the news of the lunch.

Antonio Casula, former regional commander of the Forestry Corps, is instead accused of omitting official acts: to put him in trouble would be his role, as well as a public officer, also as a judicial police officer with specific skills in supervision and control compliance with anti-covid rules against the pandemic.

The prosecutor also contested the aiding and abetting of the mayor of Mandas, Umberto Oppus, at the time of the events, general director of the Regional Councilorship for Local Authorities, and Giovanni Corona, the manager responsible for the spa. According to the accusation they would have favored the three soldiers under investigation with testimonies and agreed versions on the reason for the presence at the lunch of the commander of the 151st Regiment of the Sassari Brigade.

Archived the positions of the former general manager of Forestas, Giuliano Patteri, and of the former manager of the University hospital of Cagliari, Giorgio Sorrentino. They had been entered in the register of suspects for embezzlement, but the investigations of the Finance ruled out the crime.

Now the defenders of the six suspects will have the entire file available to ask to be questioned or present briefs before the prosecutor decides whether to ask for indictment.
