The request to obtain another 30 thousand euros was sent to the Sardinia Foundation more than a month ago. However, no response has yet been received. Moral of the story: the head of the Mars Eel for now remains kept in the laboratory of Stefano Piga, the blacksmith who created the work commissioned by the Municipality of Santa Giusta years ago.

The enormous sculpture, which is to be installed a few meters from the Town Hall, continues to sail in dire straits.

In fact, the craftsman has not yet been paid for the work done.

Piga has always reiterated that a very specific figure had been agreed with the Municipality years ago: 35 thousand euros were available for three and a half metres, which the Sardinia Foundation financed and another 15 thousand were financed by the Municipality.

But then during construction the head took on different sizes.

Piga has repeatedly reported that the creator Salvatore Garau had been given carte blanche by the Municipality. And that he went from the initial 3 and a half meters to seven. That's why the artist now waits for the difference in resources. That is, double what was initially agreed.

The administrators, however, do not change their mind: «There are no resources in our coffers to allocate to the work - explains the councilor for Public Works Pierpaolo Erbì - As it is right to reiterate that in the offices there is no deed that certifies that the size of the the work could have increased. That's why we asked the Foundation for another loan. But still no news."

The concrete base that the administration built in recent months to house the work, allocating 30 thousand euros, therefore remains headless.
