The Carabinieri of Sanluri have identified the alleged perpetrator of the damage and attempted theft that occurred on the night of October 27th at the water vending machine on Via Carlo Felice. The person charged—in full compliance with the presumption of innocence and the ongoing investigation—is a 36-year-old unemployed man living in the Medio Campidano area, already known to law enforcement.

The story emerged after the complaint filed by the manager of the plant , a 41-year-old entrepreneur from the province of Cagliari, who had reported the attempt to steal the coins contained in the vending machine and the damage caused to the structure.

The images recorded by video surveillance cameras in the area provided the military with crucial evidence. By analyzing the footage and comparing the details with additional evidence gathered in the area, investigators were able to reconstruct the movements of the alleged perpetrator and identify him. The man was summoned to the police station and subsequently reported to the prosecutor's office.

According to the Carabinieri, the operation represents an example of the daily work carried out by local stations in preventing property crimes and responding promptly to citizen reports.
