He had been at home in San Teodoro for decades. A permanent presence in the summer on the Cinta beach, the Senegalese street vendor Ibrahima Pen (62 years old), known to all as "Abramo", had gained trust and esteem among citizens and tourists, becoming a point of reference.

He died two nights ago on the 131 Dcn, at the Orani crossroads: after having run over a flock of sheep, he got out of the car and was then hit by a pirate car. This, at least, is the first version of the facts. If this really happened, perhaps the results of the autopsy will be able to tell.

Whatever the outcome of the analyses, the Teodorina community is ready to mobilize in solidarity initiatives to support Abraham's family in Senegal: a wife and five children.

«Abramo», says the moved deputy mayor Luciana Cossu, «was a symbol of our country. A perfect example of integration. He was always ready to offer directions and support to tourists, but also to clean up some parts of the beach. The news of his passing shook us: we are waiting for a clearer picture to understand what happened."

Deputy mayor Cossu adds: « We are witnessing a touching wave of affection. Dozens are calling the Town Hall, saying they are ready to do their part for Abraham and his loved ones. Everyone is united by a deep sense of love and friendship towards a special man. For this reason, we will communicate more official initiatives in a few days."
