Enhance the rich cultural heritage of the town and in particular of the golden period of the Middle Ages which saw San Gavino Monreale as an important town. Thus the association "Compagnia Medievale Monreale", chaired by Giorgio Olla and made up of a large group of volunteers, organized the historical re-enactment of the judicial period with the trial of Queen Eleonora d'Arborea.

Dressed in period clothes, the "sad" procession crossed various streets in the town until it reached the church of San Gavino Martire where the stone effigies of the rulers of the Arborea family are found. Also present for the occasion were the groups of historic archers from Sanluri, the Knights of the Antica Locanda at Castello Cagliari, the Medieval Company of Arms from Sanluri, the Medieval Company from Monreale, the People of a Thousand Colors (Mirella Piras – Andrea Camarra ), the auctioneer Francesco Serrenti and Eleonora d'Arborea represented by Sofia Quagliaro.

«Now after Eleonora's trial - explains Giorgio Olla - with the patronage of the Municipality in the Dona Maxima house-museum there was a conversation on the Giudicato of Arborea on the theme "The history of the Giudicato from Mariano IV to William II of Narbonne" The interventions of Professor Grazia Villani and Professor Giovanni Battista Mallica were of great depth, while Maestro Marco Meloni accompanied the conversation with musical pieces from the period and the actor Gianluca Medas took care of the direction».
For the councilor for major events Nicola Ennas, Queen Eleonora d'Arborea represents a key character not only in the historical context of the island, but in the panorama of the entire universal medieval era. «The work of the judge possesses unusual characteristics of innovation and modernity compared to the legal and administrative legislations of the time, marking the history of European law in general. It is in the light of this and in consideration of the tangible traces left by the Judge in our community, therefore, that the historical re-enactment of the judicial period must be framed. It is of fundamental importance to perpetuate the memory of a character of the caliber of Eleonora d'Arborea, who has marked the history of Sardinia and is hand-in-hand with our roots. Remembering Eleonora d'Arborea is equivalent to regaining possession of our historical heritage and our cultural capital".
