The members of the San Gavino sailors' association met in their historic headquarters in via Convento and then went to the church of Santa Chiara where mass was celebrated. At the end of the religious function, the sailors in procession, followed by the civil and military authorities, placed a laurel wreath dedicated to all the fallen soldiers in Piazza Cesare Battisti. The ceremony was also attended by the deputy mayor Nicola Ennas and the commissioner Libero Lai.

The sailors of the Sangavino association are always present on the occasion of important events in memory of the fallen, as also happened on 4 November when the Sangavino soldiers who died in the two world conflicts were remembered. "It was an honor - remarked the deputy mayor Nicola Ennas - to have made the members who have left us participate in this time".
