The boxers of the San Benedetto market are experiencing days of anguish regarding the transfer to the temporary structure in Piazza Nazzari .

A long period that goes from the "white semester" of the former mayor Paolo Truzzu to the first twenty days of the new mayor Massimo Zedda , who still has to put the pieces of the council in place and reflect on the municipal managers, the driving force of the administrative machine of the Palace Bacaredda.

"We haven't had any news for months," says Diego Strazzera, owner of station 14/15 on the fish floor. «Time passes inexorably and it will be very difficult, if not impossible given that the works have not yet begun, for the restructuring of the old market to be completed within the deadlines established by the Pnrr». The scenario is nightmarish. "If that were the case, the work would be blocked and we would never return to San Benedetto again."

For the boxers, the move to Piazza Nazzari, announced for the first time in September 2023 and then postponed to a "destination date", is a point of no return . And there are many who hope that it never happens.
