They met in the afternoon after closing the counters and collecting the goods. Over forty operators, gathered on the first floor that separates the meat boxes from those of fruit and vegetables. So the owners of the boxes of the San Benedetto market, in Cagliari, have made an appointment.
Objective: to discuss the future of the market, for which the administration has 51 million euros (Pnrr funds of the Metropolitan City) for the redevelopment, and the unknown factor of the new structure, the temporary one, to which they will be transferred in the spring of 2024 for three years to allow the administration to do the work in San Benedetto.
“ We were told that not all operators will go to the provisional market in Piazza Nazzari ,” says Massimiliano Ruggiu, representative of the San Benedetto operators committee. “Some of us should go to Sant'Elia, others to the remaining markets where the boxes are empty. For some time we have been asking the administration to illustrate the project for the provisional market, we would like to understand how we will be accommodated, with what services ”.
The municipality's denial soon arrives: "Tomorrow 21 October at 4 pm the project of the temporary structure that will welcome all the operators currently present will be presented to the members of the San Benedetto market committee."
