Tensions escalate in Monastir as migrants arrive at the hotspot armed with sticks and clash with them.

Tension erupted outside the Monastir migrant center: initial reports suggest several people, apparently Sardinians, in cars and motorcycles, armed with sticks, showed up outside the facility to settle scores with a group of foreign nationals, apparently Algerian.

There was a clash, with some people suffering minor injuries. Then they fled before law enforcement arrived.

It is still unclear whether it was a settling of scores , linked to some event that occurred earlier or in the previous days, or whether there is something else behind it.

On site, in addition to the 118 emergency responders, the Carabinieri patrols also arrived and immediately began their investigations.
