Saccargia's 27-blade wind farm project receives silent approval from the Region.

Wind turbines in Saccargia are on alert. There are 27, 200 meters tall, and each with a capacity of 121.5 megawatts, just a short distance from the basilica . Erg Wind Energy—according to a February 14 Regional Administrative Court ruling that confirms previous decisions—has tacitly obtained authorization for the Nulvi-Ploaghe plan, despite the Region's silent approval . And Law 20, which subsequently came into force, could not "reject" the mega-repowering project: while it's true that there were 51 wind turbines previously, the complete removal of 24 blades does not mean it will be a less invasive intervention. The accusations of the Permanent Garrison of the Sardinian People are matched by the anger of activists from the Gallura Committee, who filed a complaint: "But this isn't the end of the story."
The committees
Maria Grazia Demontis, spokesperson for the Gallura Committee, warns: "While the Region was defeated in court, entrenching itself in a law—Law 20 of 2024, which it knew to be fragile—it left the only truly lethal weapon to stop this outrage undetected: self-cancellation on a technical basis." Last summer, the Gallura Coordination Committee, together with the Sarcidano Committee, delivered a series of documents to Industry Councilor Emanuele Cani and Governor Alessandra Todde that would render that authorization worthless.
The Presidium
Davide Fadda, of the Permanent Presidium of the Sardinian People, adds: "The Pontius Pilate-like attitude, used in many authorization procedures, and the regional legislation annulled in its entirety by the Constitutional Court, could lead to a series of disasters in many other parts of our country."
Pratobello Motion
Meanwhile, after Selargius, Cagliari will soon be on the agenda. The Pratobello 2026 motion will be discussed at one of the upcoming meetings of the Palazzo Bacaredda Council. It was added to the agenda for the council meeting yesterday, but it's unlikely to be discussed on Saturday.
