Everything is ready for Sa Festa manna de Mesu Maju which, from 10 to 15 May, celebrates San Simplicio, patron saint of Olbia and Gallura. The liturgical functions and religious rites remain unchanged, which open, on May 10, with the gathering of ex voto flags and continue with the celebration of mass, every day, the civil celebrations provide for a rich program, which confirms the traditional mussel festival , on 13 May at 6.00 pm in the Fausto Noce Park, and the Palio della Stella, on 14 May at 4.30 pm in viale Isola Bianca.

This morning in the minor basilica of San Simplicio in Olbia, the celebrations committee, chaired by Giovanni Asara, in the presence of the parish priest Don Antonio Tamponi, and the deputy mayor, Sabrina Serra, presented the program of the party, inaugurated by the lights of the fireworks artifice, will be animated, from the stage in the Fausto Noce Park at 10pm, by the voices of Giusy Ferreri, on May 13th, of the Nomads on May 12th and of Piero Marras on the 11th, preceded by the Sardinian-language poetry competition, in Piazza San Simplicio .

In between, on 14 May, the VII edition of Mesu Maju in Coro with the performance of Sardinian choirs, the Cabaret evening with Marco Piccu, and the regional folklore review, presented by Giuliano Marongiu. On May 15, the anniversary of the martyrdom of San Simplicio, the day will open at 5.30 with the Diana, accompanied by the Felicino Mibelli music band, which will cross the city, followed, at 10 in the Church of San Paolo, by welcoming the bishop of the Diocese of Tempio Ampurias, Monsignor Sebastiano Sanguinetti, who, at 11.30 outside the Basilica, will preside over the solemn pontifical mass, celebrated by the priests of the Diocese. At 4.30 pm, gathering of the folk groups and at 6 pm departure, from the Basilica, of the Procession in honor of the patron saint, which will go through the streets of the city center, accompanied by twenty folk groups from all over the island.
