“ Romanesque in Sardinia . Opportunities and development through new tourist itineraries”, is the theme of the round table scheduled for Wednesday 11 December at 10 am in the Main Hall of Alghero airport . Experts in tourism, economics and culture will meet for a debate open to all, in order to share skills and ideas. The morning will be moderated by journalist Celestino Tabasso, with a focus on the potential of the valuable heritage of Romanesque churches found throughout the island, extraordinary testimonies of the history, art and architecture of the period between the 11th and 14th centuries. On the occasion of the round table, Sogeaal, in collaboration with the Fondazione Sardegna Isola del Romanico, will set up a virtual reality corner that will accompany you in an interactive and immersive visual experience inside some Romanesque churches in Sardinia.
The program:
The round table will open with greetings from Silvio Pippobello (CEO of Alghero and Olbia airports), Raimondo Cacciotto (mayor of Alghero), Giuseppe Mascia (mayor of Sassari), Carla Medau (chief of staff of the Department of Tourism, Crafts and Commerce of the Sardinia Region) and Mauro Quidacciolu (director of the Diocesan Office for the Ecclesiastical Heritage of the Archdiocese of Sassari).
The session will then get into the heart of the matter with speeches by Antonello Figus (president of the Fondazione Sardegna Isola del Romanico), Nicoletta Usai (associate professor of Medieval Art History at UniCa), Anna Trono (chair of the Commission International Geographical Union on Geography of Governance), Alicia Padin Buceta (president of the Asociación Amigos del Románico - Madrid), and Elisabetta Gola (vice-rector for Communication and Image at UniCa).
