A peaceful but heated sit-in took place this evening in front of the Monserrato Town Hall .

Over a hundred people gathered in Piazza Maria Vergine, in conjunction with the City Council meeting, to protest the potholes and road damage , asking the administration for urgent maintenance and safety measures.

The protest was launched by the social media group "La Voce di Monserrato," where residents daily post about the state of the asphalt, and by the cultural association "Obiettivo Comunitas."

Shame, safety and respect, the words shouted out loud by the protesters, who said they were "tired of the potholes, broken promises and unbelievable excuses" .

During a break in the Chamber, Mayor Tomaso Locci and the City Council (who were booed) emerged to confront the sit-in participants. Amid the protests, the mayor—wearing a sweatshirt with the slogan "It's always the mayor's fault"—promised to begin work on Via Cesare Cabras—one of the most damaged thoroughfares—by next month.
