«It's true, three of my majority councilors were missing: two for health reasons, as I said during the Council. Therefore, no serious episode that should make citizens reflect and make them think of who knows what breakdown in the majority."

These are the words of the mayor of Riola Sardo Lorenzo Pinna who did not swallow the statements of the minority councilor Irene Erdas who spoke after the public meeting of 29 December, the last of 2023. Erdas had underlined that the only item on the agenda of the day had been approved thanks to the presence of the minority.

The mayor replies: «If we have to talk about a sense of responsibility then let's say that two of my other councilors present participated in the session despite having a bad cold. But they did their duty. I then wonder what result would have happened if the minority group had missed the numbers? We will simply be back in the Chamber for the second session the next morning at 9. The true sense of responsibility is to always tell the truth."

Pinna then adds to the matter by still referring to the Arriora opposition group: «Look carefully in the mirror and think if you are worthily serving the citizens who have given you your precious trust. Because on the one hand there are those who talk, exploit and try to destabilize. On the other hand, there is an administration that perhaps without too much publicity has entrusted almost three million euros of work up until December 29th that will start in 2024. Of course, I am not the best mayor in the world, and we can always do more, but in everything we do we put our heart into it and not falsehood."
