The Sardinian staff of the RFI Circulation and Timetable Room crosses their arms. The strike was proclaimed for tomorrow, Saturday 8 February, from 9 to 17 by the unions Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl Ferrovieri, Fast Confsal and Orsa Ferrovie.

The Circulation and Timetable Room staff, who monitor the trains that cross the Island's railway network every day, complain about the failure to comply with the application of the national collective agreement and union agreements.

"From the company there was a clear rejection of our demands, even in the last meeting," explains the regional secretary of Fit Cisl Alessandro Russu. In Sardinia, he continues, "we are seeing shifts without breaks, the refusal to provide a support figure for these workers who play an extremely delicate role in train circulation."

The unionist reports a "chronic" problem related to "insufficient" staff. But from RFI, he points out, "only closing responses are coming." And he promises: "Tomorrow is only the first of a series of days of abstention," which will continue until the company "finds a more dialoguing attitude."
