The news of the energy drink giant's warning against the small Mamoiada winery "guilty" – according to the company – of copying the famous logo with the two bulls is also causing a sensation in Austria, the headquarters of Red Bull.

In what is a dispute between David and Goliath, many are in solidarity with Mattia Muggittu , the young Sardinian entrepreneur.

The 23-year-old himself tells it: «Solidarity – he reveals – is relieving me from a really dark period linked to this warning. I have received hundreds of messages from fellow countrymen who tell me that this is the battle of all of Sardinia against the global giant. But also many messages from the Austrians who pleasantly surprised me ».

Muggittu was also contacted by a journalist from Kronen Zeitung, the most widely circulated newspaper in Austria : «I will explain to him that oxen are the symbol of our winegrowing tradition, to which I have added the Boeli stele, a Neolithic menhir found near mine vineyard ".

A real blow for the young man: «It wasn't necessary, I'm a student of oenology and after years of bureaucracy I was finally able to see my first bottle . Now I have appointed a lawyer and I am recovering, a global giant cannot come to my house to prevent a logo that is a symbol of my history and my culture".

"Mattia feels like David against Goliath, but he knows he has strong arguments from him that can prevail," says the lawyer Mauro Intagliata, who protects him. «Red Bull - he explains - did not accept our letter that dismantles their reconstruction and opposed Mattia's application for registration of the trademark on 7 October 2022. Until mid-March we have time for conciliation, we will do our best , then the patent office will decide ».

THE FACTS

The label of the “Muggittu Boeli” wines depicts two oxen one next to the other, with the red sign of the plow underneath and above it the representation of the circles of the Boeli stele. Red Bull's legal office has sent a certified email to the winery with a warning against using that trademark that is too similar .

And it is not the first warning of this kind that the Austrian giant makes, the previous one can bode well. Last October Red Bull lost its case against Bullards, an English company that produces gin, which it had asked to eliminate some services and goods such as energy drinks and soft drinks .
