Rain is providing relief to Baronia and Bassa Gallura. Since yesterday, thanks to the rainfall of two days ago , 150,000 cubic meters of water per hour have entered the Maccheronis dam . Four days ago, the reservoir was dry with just 200,000 cubic meters of water .

Last night, at 9 pm, the level rose to 3 million cubic meters.

"The forecasts are promising," explains Ambrogio Guiso, president of the Central Sardinia Land Reclamation Consortium, "because by today we can reach 5 million cubic meters, and by this week we can reach nearly 9 million."

Yesterday, the Consortium asked ADIS to lift the restrictions, and the regional authority responded immediately by revoking the order to close the pipelines, allowing the network to reopen, and ending the severe restrictions imposed on December 16th. Between today and tomorrow, the authority's technicians and workers will be working to reopen the pipelines and provide renewed relief to the consortium's agricultural businesses.

But our thoughts also turn to the tourism sector, which has planned several accommodation reopenings for the end of the year, ahead of the holiday season. "With these supplies, we can rest easy for two or three months," comments Guiso, who announces a meeting in mid-January with local authorities, political and environmental protection authorities, and the regional Department of Agriculture and Environment to discuss and finally get to work on the Abba Luchente Dam project. "A hopeful prospect," concludes Guiso, "with the hope that the weather will continue to be favorable and that the available reservoirs will be filled."
