Violence, drug dealing, and degradation cannot be fought with literary readings, but with serious and immediate interventions. We have long proposed specific solutions: increased police patrols, installation of video surveillance systems, greater care and cleanliness of public spaces. Simple, concrete, and common-sense measures, necessary to restore safety and decorum to an area reduced to a free zone for criminals.
Alessandro Serra, city secretary of Forza Italia in Cagliari, declared this after yet another episode of violence recorded in Cagliari: on Saturday in Via Sassari, two groups of foreigners clashed and unleashed chaos among the tables of the bars .
"The administration," adds Serra, "has once again chosen the path of do-gooder procrastination, relying on the usual excuse of (fake) cultural action. Unfortunately, the facts speak clearly: without territorial oversight and without prevention and countermeasures, fine words remain empty and citizens continue to suffer."
The historic center, according to the Forza Italia representative, "must return to being the vibrant and safe heart of the city. And to do that, an immediate change of pace is needed. Forza Italia is ready to continue this battle, alongside the residents and business owners who ask only to live and work in peace."
