From Piazza Gramsci to Viale Trento, a hundred students from Cagliari's high schools marched this morning, concluding the demonstration with a sit-in under the Region.

"We want power", the slogan of the protest organized by the Student Union and supported by pacifist and antimilitarist associations . The government's policies on education were targeted, accused of limiting freedom and promoting a culture of war, with harsh criticism of Giorgia Meloni and the Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditara.

"We are against the so-called school of merit, because we do not believe in a school that is a place of competition and conflict between students ," explains the coordinator of the Uds Michele Tatti. "We oppose the corporate drift of the school, which through the school-work alternation no longer forms minds, but a workforce that is initially free and then weak and blackmailable," adds Andrea Ingannato, of the Fgc. The chants and protests of the demonstrators also show their closeness to the Palestinian cause. "Against war and repression, let's stop the government," reads a banner carried in the procession by the students.
