Yes to the Carnival party in the square, but parents will have to stay away from the children. An unusual request that comes from the Cabras Comprehensive Institute led by the director Paolo Figus, after the Municipality invited the school to participate in the traditional parade on Fat Thursday. The reason? "Difficult to manage the children due to the presence of the parents", as stated in the circular sent to the families. In the parents' chats there is no shortage of controversy, the idea of the "locked down" square is not liked at all.
The principal does not mince words to explain to parents the reasons that led him to ask the Municipality not to allow parents to enter Piazza Don Sturzo: "The presence of you parents has often created situations in which teachers, who are responsible for their students, see them taken away to take photos, for a hug, to fix their clothes, to deliver confetti", we read in the circular. "Sometimes some parents have even intervened in the event of skirmishes, scolding the children present. For this reason, the teachers, through the school management, have asked the Municipality to prohibit access to Piazza Don Sturzo to parents of primary and secondary school students , in order to allow for more peaceful control and simplify the management of the classes".
Mayor Andrea Abis is clear: "This is an unusual and perhaps even exaggerated request. We are not at the stadium. The armoring is far from the spirit of the carnival celebration . The square will be closed to traffic but not to families."
