From the Todde case , whose statement of expenses for the electoral campaign is contested by the Court of Appeal of Cagliari's Guarantee Panel, requesting its forfeiture, "something very serious from a political point of view also emerges". This is what Ugo Cappellacci, a member of Forza Italia, says in a video published on his social media channels.

In the video Cappellacci shows a statement made by Todde to Corrado Formigli during the broadcast “Piazza Pulita” on La 7, in which the governor stated: «I also paid for a large part of this electoral campaign».

On the contrary, Cappellacci underlines, in an interview with Repubblica Todde has now "declared that he personally spent nothing on the electoral campaign and to the board of guarantee he declared on his honour that he had not incurred any expenses ".

If that's the case - Cappellacci continues - "she must explain" the statements on La 7. "Is it acceptable - the Forza Italia representative then attacks - that a person and his coalition, after having demonstrated total incompetence, can still be considered adequate to govern, especially since Todde is vice president of a party, that of the grillini, which has made honesty and transparency its political banner ? And how can we accept - Cappellacci concludes - that a person is capable of lying shamelessly and with a natural air, I would almost say suave, to millions of Italians?" .
