Three years and 6 months of imprisonment, 8 thousand euros in compensation. This is the sentence, formulated in the afternoon in court in Sassari by judge Valentina Nuvoli, against a 53-year-old from Alghero for family mistreatment and injuries.

Harassment occurred against his ex-wife, and in front of his children, including spitting, kneeling and heavy insults.

Conduct that worsened as soon as the woman, in 2019, expressed her intention to separate and from that moment, as prosecutor Paola Mannuzza recalled, "there was an escalation of violence". In particular the verbal ones, with the woman insulted by phrases, reported by the prosecution, such as "You're a whore.. you like black men", "Go and get pregnant", up to the death threats: "If you take my house I'll burn you alive... I'll take you out."

And then an episode, dating back to 4 years ago, in which, according to the accusation, the 53-year-old hit his partner with a knee on the pubis, causing her to have a prognosis of over a month.

As her civil lawyer Gavinuccia Arca reminded the woman, the man also sold her car and took away her ATM, thus depriving her of any means of support.

The prosecutor had asked for 3 years and 8 months and the lawyer Arca 20 thousand euros in compensation for the accused, defended by the lawyer Gavino Tanchis. In the end, the judge's ruling slightly reduces the public prosecutor's request.
