"I damaged a car, whose is it?": the honest appeal of an entrepreneur to Ussana
Maximiliano Mereu asks for help on social media to find the owner of the hit vehicle: then the meeting and the handshake for compensationPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
His car hits a parked vehicle and since he didn't have time to stop and look for the owner, he reports himself on Facebook. Result: the two, investor and damaged, first contact each other on social media and then meet physically and negotiate the compensation for damages, however contained.
It happened in Ussana , where Maximiliano Mereu, a twenty-nine year old Milanese resident in the town, owner of two clubs in Dolianova and Cagliari, "crawled" with his 500 a Fiat Punto parked in via Verdi, on the way to his house, and moved away.
The post
What seemed like an ordinary road hacking scene (unfortunately the constant, in such cases, is to flee and try to get away with it) turned out to be anything but. «Good evening fellow citizens, I apologize in advance. I accidentally hit a car parked in via Verdi, but unfortunately I couldn't stop to look for the owner. Whoever owns the car write to me so that I can pay for the damage.'
The post written on facebook by Maximiliano Mereu was filled with "likes" and registered an avalanche of positive comments on the conduct of the young Milanese manager.
By chance, the Punto belonged to Alessio Casula, a mechanic who owned a workshop in Ussana, who repaired the damage to his car on his own. But the detail does not erase the value of the gesture.
"The damage was bullshit", is the colorful response of Maximiliano Mereu, amazed at the attention paid to the gesture that led him to accuse himself of what, after all, remains a crime. «I don't understand the interest in what should be normal: admitting, in this case, my fault. The reaction and comments on facebook to my post leave me amazed», explains Mereu, who in any case remains an example of fairness and honesty.
Comments
"Thank goodness there are still honest people: bravo, what you do does you credit, if they were all like you the world would be better", is one of the most significant comments on the self-denunciation of the young Milanese, who recounts the moment of bump. "I was very tired and via Verdi is a narrow street, it was like falling asleep, I felt I had hit a car but I was really in a hurry because I had to go to work and I couldn't stop", says the young manager which, thanks to the power of social networks, soon received the answer. "I am the owner, the car is mine," wrote the victim, also a young man, from Ussana.
The rest of the story is written in the handshake between the two. "We met the next day, he appreciated my gesture and I appreciated his honesty in not speculating on the fact", concludes Maximiliano, "I didn't do anything extraordinary, I just followed my conscience and my civic sense".
