The director general of the ASL Gallura, Marcello Acciaro, spoke, in the council hall, to those present gathered at the conference on Pediatric First Aid, about what is "Initiative healthcare", a model of assistance aimed at intercepting the needs of patients , particularly older people, tested in La Maddalena, which the Local Health Authority considers to have given "excellent results" and which it intends to extend to the rest of Gallura.

«We have been working on the concept of community for some time, and it is no coincidence that the first Community House in Sardinia was inaugurated here, and on that of Proximity, that is, bringing health services as close as possible to people. The projects we are carrying out here in La Maddalena become the models we take out».

The intervention of the general manager took place during the conference "The maneuvers for unblocking the airways", organized by the head of the Paolo Merlo hospital, Luca Pilo, who dealt with a theme particularly felt by those with children of pediatric age. A few months ago, the garrison staff had organized first aid courses for about 150 primary and secondary students. Their perceived vision of the emergency-urgency world has been translated into drawings, some of which are exhibited until 8 September in the municipal atrium. The awareness and information initiative, dr. Pilo, intends to extend it now also to high school students.
