The trial of Fabio Macellari , a 47-year-old former Cagliari player, opened before Alessandra Tedde, judge of the Court of Cagliari.

The former defender (he was at Cagliari from 1997 to 2000 and in 2003-2004) is accused of ill-treatment and injury against his partner and of extortion against the woman's mother. Neither of the two alleged victims appeared as a civil party at the start of the trial.

Macellari's partner was unable to appear in the courtroom, so today only the mother was heard, who confirmed the tensions and alleged violence committed by Macellari (who in 2015-16 was also the Seulo coach ) against her daughter.

According to the witness, the tensions all revolved around the accused 's request for money .

The facts disputed by prosecutor Gilberto Ganassi date back to summer 2020 and would have continued until last summer, when Macellari - in jealousy - would have turned upside down the villa in Costa Rei where he lived with his partner.

Next hearing on November 4, the former rossoblù defender is defended by lawyer Stefano Murgia.

"I SPENT EVERYTHING ON DRUGS" - Three years ago Macellari - who also played for Inter - recounted his parable descending from D'Urso: " Having fun cost me a lot, when you stop playing and try to maintain that style of life runs out of money. Then I used drugs and drugs lead to this. I made some slips ".

He also spoke of when Cellino, "for him I was like a son", put it out pink because "one evening I went out with some friends and came back at 10 the next morning".
