The abandonment of waste in every corner of the city is taking on worrying proportions in Quartucciu, transforming it into a scenario of degradation that does not even spare the most central areas.

The situation is evident in parks and squares, as residents report: street bins overflowing with bags of garbage, often coming directly from homes, lie abandoned with no regard for the environment. In Piazza del Crocefisso, in the central Via Nazionale, bags full of waste occupy public spaces, while in Piazza Sunda and on the corner of Via Tortolì and Via Mandas, bins overflow with uncollected organic material. Not to mention the animal excrement left in green spaces where children play.

It is clear that summer temperatures make this situation even more unsustainable, worsening the environmental and hygienic impact. Only a week ago, the Rio Is Cungiaus was cleaned of garbage bags abandoned by who knows who, but, in one night, they reappeared.

Citizens are exasperated: "This is incivility," they say, calling for decisive action by local authorities. The Municipality, despite its cleaning efforts, is unable to keep up with the widespread neglect. Residents propose solutions such as installing surveillance cameras and increasing fines for those who abandon waste, in the hope of giving the city a more respectful and dignified image. Greater attention to the territory is now essential to stem a phenomenon that risks getting out of hand.
