Lady Luck is once again in Quartu. At Michela and Valentina Mucelli's tobacco shop on Via Garibaldi, a lucky gambler took home €500,000 with a €5 Double Challenge scratch-off ticket.
The man first bought the betting slip, then went home, realized he had won and went back to the tobacconist to thank him and have the coupon checked: "This amount of money will help me a lot," he said before leaving.
His identity remains top secret but something leaks out: the winner is a worker, a hard worker, with a family , who was in great need.
"We're thrilled," the Mucelli sisters said. "It's a win that helps a lot. The person who won is a hard worker. He's not a regular customer or a regular player, so he just grabs a scratch card every now and then."
Last February, in Sardinia's third largest city, another two million euro win was made at the tobacconist's between Via Vico and Via Trieste, again with a scratch card.
