In Quartu tax evasion is skyrocketing and there is a risk of suspension of licenses - and revocation if necessary - for commercial activities that have not paid the Tari for years.

A long-standing problem, however, has now reached its limit, as emerged in the City Council during the approval of the new rates for the waste tax which will not undergo any increase this year either.

In fact, 52 percent of evasion is concentrated among traders and beach businesses. And it is precisely the operators who work on the Quarto coast that are at the top of the list of red accounts referred to the TARI: out of 32 seaside activities only six have paid the tax from 2019 to 2023 , another two have recently requested the scrapping of the debt.

«The other 24 haven't paid a cent since 2019, with the usual systems: companies that change, that go bankrupt, and in the end you don't get paid. We have a duty as an administration to defend those who behave well, and to stigmatize the attitudes of those citizens who do not pay and make fun of the rest of the population" , the words of the mayor Graziano Milia in the Chamber in via Porcu.
