A controversial incident occurred last night at the Pata Negra ham shop on Via Eligio Porcu in Quartu. Upon seeing three plainclothes officers, who had arrived to enforce an order, manager Massimo Pisu , having learned the reason for their visit, grabbed his smartphone and resumed the lengthy discussion, which took place in front of customers who were unclear about what was happening.

According to the video , the Carabinieri's Anti-Adulteration Unit intervened after the presence of some insects was detected inside the shop. However, alleged irregularities in the storage of some cheeses and the labeling of other products were also discovered.

Pisu appears desperate. This is evident both from those images and from a subsequent video, which he concludes in tears: "I work here 18 hours a day," the entrepreneur explains. "I tried to explain that I have all the paperwork in order and that I would ship everything another time. The insects? There are some," he told both the officers and later, "but it's the bamboo 'babaiola', a normal thing. The place is clean, there's not a speck of dust on the tables." The poorly stored cheese? "We keep it at a controlled temperature, as the producers say."

The entrepreneur claims that "this is harassment. I've been checked three times in a month. It's not normal, even my lawyer says so."

Pisu announces the possibility of appeals: "We'll go to court. But this whole thing has hurt us terribly. They demanded I fire the customers." And for now, the Pata Negra ham shop in Quartu remains closed.
