The person presumed responsible for the fire that broke out on May 29th in the countryside of Pula , in the Su Leunaxi area, a short distance from the first houses in Sarroch and the Saras refinery , was arrested last night by members of the Forestry Corps.

The man is now under house arrest, monitored by an electronic bracelet. The alarm was raised in the early afternoon, when the Forestry Corps firefighting teams intervened to put out the flames that, fueled by the wind, had threatened the homes and the refinery facilities.

16 operators intervened on site, including forestry officers, firefighters and the Sarroch barracellar company, supported by five fire-fighting vehicles. A helicopter from the regional system, which took off from the Pula base, also intervened to support the operations. Subsequently, investigations began. A homemade incendiary device was found at the point of ignition . The analysis of the images, the reconstruction of the movements of a particular vehicle and a subsequent search finally led to the arrest of the man.
