The Surveillance Court of Milan has ordered a new medical assessment for Graziano Mesina, 82 years old, to ascertain his health conditions and compatibility with the prison regime in the Opera penitentiary institute where he is detained.

For the lawyers Marialuisa Vernier and Beatrice Goddi, the former Scarlet Pimpernel of Orgosolo presents a neurocognitive and neuropsychiatric decline, which could be the beginning of a problem of senile dementia.

Mesina has been in prison since December 2021, when he was arrested after a long period of fugitive, and refuses medical visits and treatment.
