Moments of fear yesterday for the passengers of the Aeroitalia flight XZ 2335 in service at 9 am from Rome to Cagliari. The captain immediately after takeoff made two circles and returned to the area of Fiumicino airport.
A possible anomaly was reported on the aircraft, a Boeing 737-800.
Today the company explains that there was evidence of a "possible technical problem during the boarding phase from Fiumicino airport".
The flight crew, Aeroitalia reports, "managed with great professionalism according to standard operating procedures, remaining in the airport area. The situation immediately returned to normal and the crew, after having carried out the appropriate checks, continued towards the destination, landing on time in Cagliari".
Nothing serious, in short. Just a little tension when the passengers – reports the Corriere – felt two fairly strong bangs. The pilot, as can be seen from the Flightradar traces, made a few circles over the sea remaining in the Fiumicino area, and then, once he confirmed that there were no problems, he resumed his route towards Elmas.
