It has been lying on the rocks for two weeks now, under the small church of Balai Vicino, now in an advanced state of decomposition. The carcass of a dolphin , found on the coast of Porto Torres on February 2nd, was never removed. From the storms of recent weeks it was sucked into the sea and brought back by the waves to the rocks, from which it emerges, making itself visible from the beach and from the walk along the cycle path.

It attracts attention due to its strong nauseating odor . The animal, an adult bottlenose dolphin species, missing part of its head, is over two and a half meters long and weighs around 150 kilograms . It had been recorded by experts from Crama, the marine animal recovery center on the island of Asinara. Disposal is the responsibility of the Municipality of Porto Torres.

Having ended up stranded on the rocks due to the strong sea storms of recent days, it could have sunk to decompose naturally in the sea. An operation that promises to be not easy due to the inaccessible place in which it is located, difficult to reach. Residents are asking for appropriate measures to remove the animal.
