No karaoke in public establishments and a ban on organizing musical entertainment 500 meters away from an event promoted or sponsored by the Municipality.

The mayor of Porto Torres, Massimo Mulas signs the ordinance that redraws the framework of temporary demonstrations, events in public places and forms of musical entertainment in city bars and restaurants. The purpose of the provision is to guarantee the implementation of the national regulations on the subject and to limit some excesses recorded also during this summer in terms of disturbing the public peace.

"Based on the reports of citizens and supervisory bodies - we read in the introduction - there are problems mainly in the activities of public establishments with outdoor entertainment, with the main source being the excessive volume of music".

The ordinance recalls that the Consolidated Text of Public Safety Laws imposes the certified Notification of the start of activity (Scia) for live events of a smaller scale, with a maximum presence of 200 people which end within midnight on the day of start. Furthermore, it is underlined that according to the law, musical entertainment must be understood as a simply ancillary activity, "which must never replace the main one for which authorization has been obtained to carry out the business of administering food and drink". For this reason, the mayor deemed it necessary to regulate the conduct of noisy activities both inside and outside the premises, to reconcile the needs of the public interest with those to protect business activity, for the entire summer period and until October 31, 2023.
