Fatal bites for the kittens circulating in front of the basilica of San Gavino, in Porto Torres. An ignoble and cruel gesture committed right in front of the wooden nativity scene, made with statues over two meters high and set up with straw and hay, inaugurated just a few days ago.

They were poisoned with food containing toxic substances, lured into the death trap, a place they had chosen to enjoy a moment of tranquility. Instead they met death.

A shock for the inhabitants of the Monte Angellu area, one of the historic districts of the city where the cats had found a home. With orange fur, the two cats were found this morning by a resident who reported the incident to those taking care of the felines. An episode that sparked indignation, an episode that citizens condemned, an act deemed senseless and without justification but which draws attention to uncivilized behavior against animals. " A truly ignoble gesture, carried out in front of a church and a nativity scene, a symbol of peace and hope", commented the residents.
