A man was arrested in flagrante delicto on charges of threatening and resisting a public official . The incident occurred overnight following a report to the operations center.

The man , seriously intoxicated, was shouting various phrases, disturbing the peace of the area . The Carabinieri arrived immediately to investigate and identified the perpetrator, who was already known to law enforcement for similar behavior.

To restore calm, the officers, along with the 118 paramedics who arrived on the scene, attempted to establish a dialogue to understand the reasons for the disturbance and reassure the man. However, the man ignored the officers' pleas and, without showing any signs of calming down or cooperating, returned to his home. He emerged shortly after, brandishing a large knife, which he aimed at the Carabinieri , who fortunately managed to avoid the danger by quickly retreating. The man then planted the knife in the wooden gate of his home, and at that moment, the officers' prompt response allowed him to be subdued .

The man was arrested and held at the police station pending a validation hearing, while the knife was seized. Following the hearing, which took place this morning, the arrest was validated, and the man was ordered to remain in the Municipality of Porto Torres, where he must remain at home from 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
