Serious accident on the road at the Sorso junction, on the former 131, in the Porto Torres area.

A 90-year-old man riding a three-wheeler, an Ape 50, was rammed by a car while heading toward the city center. The driver of the vehicle reportedly fled the scene after the collision. The elderly man is in serious condition but was alert and conscious when rescued. The impact resulted in a fractured left leg and a craniofacial injury.

He was transported to Sassari with a red code aboard the Areus helicopter.

Two ambulances were on site, one from ATS Sassari and the Avis Campanedda, as well as the firefighters and the Carabinieri from the Porto Torres company who are investigating to trace the driver of the hit-and-run car.

The three-wheeler was destroyed in the impact, with pieces of its bodywork scattered across the asphalt.
