A mayoral ordinance has been issued by the mayor of Porto Torres, Massimo Mulas, to secure the facade of the building on Via Emilia, in the working-class Villaggio Satellite neighborhood, following falling debris that nearly hit the Environment Councilor, Massimiliano Ledda, and his two-year-old son.

The incident occurred late last Friday evening, when the government representative was on Via Emilia, not far from his home, when he chased his son, who was running on the sidewalk, right under the ledge where a section of concrete collapsed. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. Local police officers and firefighters responded to the scene and cordoned off the area.

The mayor signed a decree requesting Area, the regional housing agency that owns the building, to urgently intervene to eliminate any risk to public safety and to carry out the necessary consolidation and restoration work to prevent further collapse.
