A century of life, one hundred candles for Mrs Maria Dessì who today, 3 April, had her birthday and was joined in her home in Porto Torres by the mayor Massimo Mulas and the deputy mayor Simona Fois to receive best wishes from the whole family. the administration and the Turritana community.

A housewife and widow for 27 years, Aunt Maria lives with one of her nephews and his wife. She has 20 of them, children of the 8 brothers and sisters whom she has always looked after like a mother since she was a child and who, in fact, are very close to her. Wife of a penitentiary police officer, before returning to Porto Torres she followed her husband to the various cities in which he served between Volterra, Mantua and Cagliari. "I felt good everywhere – she said – because I love everyone and I love people." And those bonds of friendship, built over time, have never been broken, so much so that today he received many best wishes even from those who are far away.

The lady, surrounded by friends and relatives, particularly enjoyed the visit of the mayor, underlining how it was her great desire to receive a mayor in her home and, smiling into the camera, said: «With this photo I can make a picture of myself and I'll hang it up." Intrigued, she asked Simona Fois what a female deputy mayor did and, nodding at the answer, she specified that the important thing for women, as for everyone, is to study because studying allows one to realize oneself.
