A bar that sold cigarettes without a permit was discovered by the financial police of the Olbia Group in Porto Rotondo.

The Guardia di Finanza seized 6,230 grams of manufactured tobacco. The violation usually entails administrative sanctions of up to 10 thousand euros, but in this case the presence of a quantity exceeding 5 kilos triggered the aggravating circumstances that make the conduct also relevant from a criminal point of view.

For this reason, the trader was reported to the Tempio Prosecutor's Office for the crime of "selling monopoly goods without authorization or purchasing from persons not authorized to sell." A crime that carries a prison sentence of up to one year.

The owner of the bar was also reported to the Customs and Monopolies Agency so that the sanction of closing the business for a minimum period of five days is applied.
