A 42-year-old Ukrainian was arrested by the Pirri police for alleged harassment of his wife. With false documents he would also have obtained residence and worked as a freelancer, being the owner of some companies that had been active for a long time in the construction and foreign trade sectors, started with financing that would always have been obtained by disguising his identity. He would therefore not be who he claimed to be, but rather a Ukrainian who arrived in Sardinia in 2009.

Why he would have changed his identity so radically and what is in his past remains a mystery that the military is trying to reconstruct. The man was found in possession of three fake Lithuanian passports, one of which was valid, and two apparently valid Lithuanian driving licences. These documents reported the name corresponding to the identity with which he had arrived in Italy. With that name he had obtained an Italian residence permit, tax code and identity card, essentially becoming another person.

According to the requests of the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Cagliari, the arrest was validated yesterday during the trial with a very direct procedure. It remains to be clarified who he really is.
